Event Description

Eric Rigler (uilleann pipes & whistles) and Dirk Freymuth (guitar) team-up to create a night of acoustic holiday cheer. Featuring a mixture of traditional Celtic music, themes from some of Eric’s motion picture soundtracks, and music from the Christmas tradition – both familiar and lesser-known pieces from the British Isles and Ireland–the duo combines with Kira Ott on Irish fiddle to produce a moving musical experience.

Fresh from their 2017 PBS TV Special, Celtic Journeys: Songs & Soundtracks, “World’s Most Recorded Piper” Eric Rigler (Braveheart, Titanic, Austin Powers, Outlander, The Simpsons, Phil Collins, Josh Groban, Faith Hill, etc.) and multi-talented guitarist Dirk Freymuth (John Gorka, The Kottonmouth Kings, The Baroque Orchestra of Ireland) continue their collaboration with the goal of performing soundtrack music, Celtic traditional music, and original compositions using looping pedals, effects processors, and other music technology. To date, the project has produced two albums, Belgrove Road and the forthcoming Live on PBS: Songs & Soundtracks.
