To kick off the event, Sara “Sue” Hodson, Curator of Literary Manuscripts at the Huntington Library and author of “Jack London, Photographer” - the book that inspired the exhibit - will host a presentation and book signing.
Included are more than 50 rare photographs taken by writer / adventurer Jack London (1876-1916). London, best known as the author of such classics as “White Fang” and “Call of the Wild” was also a self-trained photojournalist. His subjects include the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, the Cruise of the SNARK, London’s trip around Cape Horn aboard the DIRIGO, and the Russo-Japanese War.
The photographs will be on view through June 16th.
