Doug MacDonald's 13-piece Jazz Coalition meets singer and comedian Tony Russell for jazz & comedy at Alva's Showroom.

The rare talent combination is being billed as “Jazz & Comedy,” an over-simplified term for the complex group of some of this country’s top performers.

MacDonald leads the big band sound of his 13-member “Jazz Coalition,” which includes L.A.’s finest musicians on flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, two trumpets, trombone, tuba, piano bass and drums-- with his distinguished and distinguishable guitar sound.

Russell is the ultimate hyphenate—an actor-singer-pianist-comedian with credits in film, TV and on stage, whose work is known from coast to coast. He counts many high-profile fellow entertainers among his friends, a long list of which is available, together with a biographical summary of his stellar career.
