Recently we have had a serious trend of Burglary for Motor Vehicles in the area of Bynner and Western. Unfortunately these are the kind of thefts where our Lock it or Lose it program is not as effective. Pitching Machines stolen from Girl's Softball complex in San Pedro
Last night, the Crime in San Pedro page on Facebook posted about a terrible theft from the San Pedro Girls' Softball Sports complex on Gaffey St.
I guess we can't have anything nice anymore! You have to bolt down every single thing, deadlock multiple times on every door or window...

Neighborhood Watch WORKS! Possible home theft thwarted
Recently, we had an "exciting" afternoon in South Shores, and I want to share information we received regarding this event from our SLO Officer Wight:

PLEASE folks, do NOT leave your cars unlocked and certainly NOT with valuables in sight!
My neighbor had a visitor over the weekend, who left his car unlocked. With his laptop and check book in sight. Needless to say it only took a couple of minutes for someone to come by and take them. 30 minutes later the thief was already attempting to cash one of his checks for a hefty amount!
