It was my pleasure, representing the City of Los Angeles, to participate in the many amazing Fourth of July events in San Pedro. From the 26th annual flag raising at the Villa family home on 18th St. in San Pedro to the annual Korean Friendship Bell ringing to the commissioning of the Iowa and lastly the fireworks at Cabrillo Beach it was an epic day for me personally. For the past six years on the fourth, I worked the streets as an LAPD officer keeping the community safe from illegal fireworks and drunk drivers. It felt great to celebrate this year with elected colleagues, friends, family and the entire community. I just want to share how blessed I feel for having such a memorable day and how happy I feel for our community that we had so much to celebrate. I wish everyone a fantastic summer 2012!
