Shane Goldmacher of the National Journal reports it was no accident that Janice Hahn, former San Pedro City Councilwoman for Los Angles and current South Bay US representative, got major face time at the Democratic National Convention.
Hahn was one of a number of women Dems whotook the Democratic National Convention stage Tuesday night - which was a surprise, Goldmacher reported, because the leadership rarely places favorites against incumbents.
Because of redistricting, Hahn will face Long Beach dem Laura Richardson for California's 44th Congresional District this November. Richardson missed the photo-op and wasn't on stage.
"It's little secret in Washington that the Democratic leadership is rooting for a Hahn win. Richardson was reprimanded in August for ethical misconduct and had to pay a $10,000 fine, after facing a previous ethics inquiry," Goldmacher writes.
