Unexpected E-mail from Amazon.com? Phony calls from Microsoft?

Several of my friends have been experiencing this recently, so even if you already have heard about it, I thought I'd share.

"Someone out there is phishing for Amazon passwords. If you get an unsolicited email from Amazon with a link to reset your password, IGNORE IT."

"A guy claiming to be from Microsoft Tech Support called us and said they are receiving error messages from our computers. When asked which computer was sending the messages he replied that it didn't matter which computer the message came from and asked us to connect to the internet to fix the glitch. We realized this was a scam (The guy called regarding a phone number that's not listed on our account.) and told the scam artist that Microsoft couldn't be getting messages from our computers because we only have Mac Books. Then the scammer apologized and hung up."
