I think the best part of 2012 was the arrival of the USS Iowa.
She touched the hearts of so many including those of us not even in the military.

On a sad note, we learned at the 2012 Polar Bear swim that we had lost our beloved John Olguin.

Man jumps to his death from Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro

A man drove up to the apex of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro Sunday night, scaled the security fence, and jumped to his death, a Port of Los Angeles official said. It is the same spot from which "Top Gun" director Tony Scott jumped to his death last August. See More
