SPHS Football Puts Away Locke Early, Cruises To Victory

It wasn't even an issue.

San Pedro High football struggled in the first quarter against Morro Bay, but it was an entirely different story against Locke of Los Angeles this time around, as the Pirates rolled to a 50-8 victory over the Saints at Pirate Stadium. San Pedro was able to rest their regulars midway through the third quarter and a running clock was implemented.

You could pretty much tell it was going to be a great night for the Pirates (2-0) when Locke junior Qu'Ali Thomas fumbled the opening kickoff and junior Antonio Frazier recovered. San Pedro simply fed the ball to senior running back Chris Alvidrez for three plays and 16 yards, as Alvidrez scored his first of three touchdowns on a one-yard run to put the Pirates ahead 6-0 with 10:32 left in the first quarter.

The special teams woes continued for Locke (1-1) as a punt snap sailed too high and it led to a safety, then Alvidrez ran for a seven-yard touchdown with 3:17 left in the first quarter for a 15-0 San Pedro advantage.

The lead grew to 36-0 by halftime as Alvidrez's three-yard touchdown run, and a pair of touchdown passes from junior quarterback Jacob Miller of 25 yards to sophomore wide receiver Raymond Geha, and 15 yards to senior running back Anthony Bolden, the latter of which came with six seconds left before the intermission.

Senior running back Christian Serna would run for 78 yards and the final two San Pedro touchdowns in the third quarter on short runs of one and two yards, and his first run from scrimmage was a 44-yard burst up the middle which set up his one-yard score with 9:24 remaining in the quarter. Serna only needed six carries to do his damage.

Alvidrez also had 78 yards rushing on 14 carries and three touchdowns, while Miller only threw five passes, four of which were completed for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns without an interception for San Pedro, who goes into next week's bye full of confidence and with a clean bill of health. San Pedro will next play at Culver City on September 19.

The Saints would score on the game's final play to break up the shutout on Thomas' 15-yard touchdown pass to senior wideout Christian Pryor, and his ensuing two-point conversion run.

Mary Star lost 40-0 to Aquinas of San Bernadino in their 2014 season opener at St. Bernard High.

The Jewish Community Weaponized Hip Hop Against Black People

Is it not yet painfully obvious that the so-called European Jewish community has profited off of the destruction of African American families all across the world? Are we really going to take the stance that conscious Hip Hop wouldn't have sold records? Whole fan bases have been ousted over the special interests of the Jewish community. Lyor Cohen, a so-called Jewish…See More
