Gas prices up due to concerns in the Middle East and refinery closures

This isn't news to anyone, unless you've been under a rock. It's on every media channel, and in every paper.

Here's one of many sites where you can check for the most current prices at stations per zip code you select.

South Shores Homeowner's meeting 1/24/2012 - Follow up 2/16/12

The annual HOA matters were taken care of between approximately 6:30pm and 7:00 pm.

Afterwards a Deputy Engineer for the city gave a brief summary of the status of the slide on Paseo Del Mar. They are still monitoring the slide and adjoining area. The Daily Breeze has the corrected information in their paper today and on their website.

My conversation with an LAPD officer on the "rules of the road" for driving around skateboarders

Being concerned about our kids skateboarding, and wondering what the rules & laws are for drivers, I asked an LAPD Sr. Lead Officer, for our area, to offer her insight. (Please be mindful that a driver should NEVER leave the scene of an accident, even if the driver is not at fault. I believe that is a serious violation of the law.) - MB

“As far as what protections the driver's have if they hit a skateboarder, it is of course always dependent on the nature of…
