Rabbi Gila Katz, Executive Director, Klein Chaplaincy Service of the South Bay
As a chaplain for the Red Cross, Rabbi Gila Katz has traveled to major trauma centers in the wake of national disasters: New York City after 9/11, New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and Hatiesburg, Miss. in 2011 to help tornado and flood victims. With more than two years of intensive training, Katz is a board-certified chaplain and a member of the National Association of Jewish Chaplains and Association of Professional Chaplains.
Beate Kirmse, Owner, Neuartig Gallery San Pedro
Beate Kirmse is the owner of the contemporary art space Gallery Neuartig and TangerineKangaroo, a green lifestyle store promoting renewably sourced products. Both businesses operate out of the same space in downtown San Pedro, the historic waterfront district of Los Angeles. Kirmse decided to build her own business in 2007 after she left New York City and a management consulting career working with Fortune 500 clients in a variety of industries.
Sr. Mary Elizabeth Galt, B.V.M., Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Catholic Schools
Sister Mary Elizabeth Galt, a native of Los Angeles, works for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. She was an educator and administrator in California for many years, in Tujunga, Pasadena and Burbank. She also worked for the Department of Catholic Schools as the elementary supervisor and associate superintendent, Los Angeles. She is currently the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Catholic Schools, Los Angeles, the largest archdiocese and Catholic school system in the U.S.
Star Van Buren, Director, El Camino College Small Business Development Center
As Director of the El Camino College Business Training Center (BTC), Star Van Buren oversees marketing the services of all the BTC’s divisions including the Small Business Development Center, the Center for Applied Competitive Technologies, the Center for International Trade Development, the Workplace Learning Resource Center, and Contract/Community Education.
