The Croatian Cultural Center of Greater Los Angeles is screening "Searching for a Storm," a film by San Pedro native Jack Baric. In the film, Baric documents Operation Storm, Croatian General Ante Gotovina and the Croatian Army as they play out a US backed plan to take back invaded territory in 1995. Last month, General Gotovina was sentenced to 24 years in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal for his role in Storm, a sentence Croatians swear is unjust. Last year Baric won a Los Angeles Emmy for his film Bloddy Thursday, about the struggle of the West coast dockworkers during the Great Depression. "Searching for a Storm" is the definitive documentary of the most important military action in Croatian history. See the film and meet the man who made it Friday at 8pm at the Croatian Cultural Center.
