Event Description

On August 17, 2014 at 2:30 pm, the Palos Verdes Democrats will be hosting a panel discussion where the topic of the Supreme Court's latest term will be explored. Although the panel is intended for attorneys, and is worth continuing education credits, the meeting is open to the public.

The panel consists of moderator Rick Hasen, University of California at Irvine School of Law (UCI), panelists Jennifer Chacón and Dean Erwin Chermerinsky both of UCI Law; Jeffrey Fisher, Stanford Law; Dahlia Lithwick, Slate.com; Bert Rein, Wiley Rein LLP; and Mark Sherman, The Associated Press.

Each panelist will analyze and highlight two cases for the audience, bringing their many years of legal scholarship, Supreme Court observation and press experience to the discussion.

After the panel review of the Supreme Court term, Tom Long, former mayor of Rancho Palos Verdes will lead a discussion of the program.  Tom is an attorney and graduate of Stanford Law School and will add his own insights to the topic.

Refreshments will be served. The address for the meeting is:
St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, 26825 Rolling Hills Rd, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274
