SP Football Edges Westchester In 1997 'Mud Bowl' 2OT Game
On this play, Jonathan Marselis dumps in this short touchdown pass to David Garcia in double overtime to give San Pedro High football a dramatic 12-6 victory over host Westchester in a 1997 CIF-Los Angeles City Section semifinal game. This hard-fought showdown was played in extreme rainy conditions on 100 yards of mud, but San Pedro somehow found a way to knock off the previously unbeaten Comets.
