National Marine Fisheries Service
In 2008, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) office in Long Beach received information from local residents that suggested a presence of sea turtles in the San Gabriel River that appeared to be more regular and consistent than previously thought. Prior to this, the presence of green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) had been only occasionally recorded in inland waterways and the coastal region near Long Beach.
Come and meet our speaker in the relaxed surroundings of the Puesta del Sol restaurant at our no-host dinner before the meeting. Dinner is at 6 p.m., at 1622 S. Gaffey St. (at 17th St.) in San Pedro
