Over the years I have found that San Pedro has many places that are very eye catching and pleasing. These are really good places for people to get pumped and do a nice workout. Places like the area between Point Fermin and the White Point Nature Preserve offer so much inspiration for a beginning jogger like myself. It's a good length strip next to the street with a view to the  ocean, surrounding trees and grass. This is a good place for a beginner to challenge themselves to make it from one end to the other. Even the Whit Point Nature Preserve is a wonderful place to get active. Many people like to go walk their dogs there or just get a good view from the top of the hill but this place is also a good challenge for anyone looking to find more endurance. There are a lot of up and down areas that you can try to jog on or just go on a hike on. And whether you walk or jog up to the top then you'll see a beautiful view of the ocean which on a clear day is breathtaking. If you drive down from Point Fermin then you can find yourself in Cabrillo Beach. There is so much jogging space in Cabrillo Beach that it becomes really tiring if you want to jog it or run it all. There is the sandy area, the pier, the walking area to get in and out of the beach and the area near the boats. All of these are long strips good for working out. All of the areas have been treated nicely and so you never have an unpleasing sight anywhere near you. The pier however can be full with a lot of fisherman and so the smell of fish is everywhere. While it can be a good place to continue your run most people don't like to enter it. Other than that Cabrillo Beach provides the right motivation for anyone to keep going. These are only some places however that I have found good for a workout but there are a lot more places to not only jog but get active in different ways in San Pedro. If anyone has found inspiration and motivation anywhere else, please feel free to share.

If you want to run/jog/walk with a group, the Pt. Fermin Flyers meet at Pt. Fermin every Sunday at 7:30am. We have a group that runs and a group that walks. There's no better motivation than running/walking with a group! We run/walk most of the routes you discussed, so come join us!
