BOATING SKILLS AND SEAMANSHIP CLASS

LONG BEACH (Jan. 2) --- The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is set to begin a Boating Skills and Seamanship class starting Jan. 15 in Los Alamitos.

The 11-week course will run from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church at 11600 Los Alamitos Blvd.

The instruction is free, but the textbook costs $45. Certificates will be awarded to students who successfully complete the course.

Some insurance companies offer discounts to boaters who have successfully completed courses such as this one.
