HELLO RIO! A SHOW WITH HEART, RHYTHM, AND LAUGHS!
JULY 28TH AT THE HERMOSA BEACH PLAYHOUSE
Redondo Beach, CA. --Bonnie Barchichat’s Senior Comedy Afternoons will be celebrating Rio the site of the Summer Olympics with a Brazilian beat and lots of laughs at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse on July 28th, 2016.
The afternoon will get underway with a Brazilian flavored conga concert in the lobby when doors open at 1 P.M. 2PM the show begins with our own Olympian Opening Ceremonies followed by rhythmic Samba dancers. Magi Avila, star of The Carmen Miranda Show who has been in over 17 films, and many TV shows both here and internationally will take the stage with her tutti-frutti hat to bring ole Carmen back to life!
Comedian Gilbert Esquivel who has won the first Latino Comedy Search and has performed on such stages as the Apollo Theatre and Caesar’s Palace will make you howl. He’s performed at the Ice House, BET’s Comic View, Laffapalooza and Que Locos.
Our headliner is Monique Marvez, is a radio and television personality, writer and comedian. Her mission is to make people laugh by going “A-ha! & Ha-ha!”. She has also appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, and PBS. In addition she’s also been Nominated for an Alma Award for her Showtime Special “Latin Divas of Comedy”. “Not Skinny, Not Blonde” is her soon to be released book later this year!
