In LA when you see people waiting outside a restaurant it can mean a lot of different things.
Of course there's the smokers. They often make you think a place is happening, only to find out they are just loitering.
Then there are the traditions. Places like Titos in Culver City or Pinks on La Brea, eateries people go to because they grew up going there or tourists heard they must try these places because they represent LA. Often they don't live up to the wait, much less their legendary status.
Still in some cases, you do find the best places when you drive by and see a line of people waiting to get in. Its true for In 'n Out and that's how I found the Omelette and Waffle Shop on Gaffey.
Now it's a regular stop.
The combination of egg and omelettes and pancakes and waffles and French toast choices is almost limitless. Plus there's chorizo, potatoes and on and on.
Though there's often a wait, it's usually not too long. The waitresses take care of you real fast. And even with the wait, it's worth it.
