Join us for this one-time screening of a documentary for movie-lovers at the majestic Warner Grand Theatre on Saturday, October 10th at 10am pacific time.
To rave reviews, the heartwarming documentary, "BROTHERHOOD OF THE POPCORN" features two SAN PEDRO natives: Emmy winning animator Bill Exter, and retired Fish truck driver, Jack Tuerk. An official selection of the San Pedro International film festival this year, the inspiring documentary is about classic movies, the golden era of Hollywood and a forty year friendship. The film features San Pedro's own Jack Tuerk, who grew up in San Pedro his whole life and still lives there today. He has seen many changes in the film industry and in the city throughout the years. In the documentary, he talks about these changes and takes the audience for brief tour of the harbor, fishing fleet and downtown. Well-known film critic and author, Leonard Maltin, sums up the movie quite well: "an affectionate portrait of friends from a wide range of backgrounds whose common interest is a love of old movies. Brotherhood of the Popcorn is disarming and enjoyable, especially if you happen to share that love." The film will be shown one time only at 10am on Saturday October 10th, 2015 at the historic WARNER GRAND THEATRE. The documentary is an official selection of the San Pedro International Film Festival (Oct.9-11th) and has been a huge hit at five other film festivals (and counting) including the Burbank International Film Festival which took place 2 weeks ago. Both San Pedro men and the director, Inda Reid, will be in attendance. CLICK HERE FOR ADVANCE TICKETS $10
