San Pedro High School track dedicated in honor of Sam Domancich
A Ceremony dedicated to naming the San Pedro High School track after Sam Domancich.
Domancich persuaded then Councilman Rudy Svorinich Jr. to consider an alternative plan drawn up, at no cost, by San Pedro High alumni Marko Botich that included the all-weather track in the new Pirate Stadium.
Domancich then led the fundraising drive, selling tile bricks etched with local family names that were later embedded beneath the west grandstands.
A public ceremony Saturday, May 14, 2011 was held to recognize Domancich's role in constructing the all-weather track.
