MARCH 5 FIRST THURSDAY ARTWALK– FREE ONE-HOUR GUIDED GALLERY TOUR AT 6:30PM This walking tour highlights the diverse talents of artists in open studios and galleries throughout the San Pedro Waterfront Arts District.

The tour begins at the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce’s Board Room Gallery (390 W. 6th St.) and visits about 3 galleries/studios each month. It provides an opportunity to hear from and talk to the artists and curators about their works and exhibitions. The SPCC Board Room Gallery offers a new show each month with the theme "All San Pedro Art," presented by member artists of the San Pedro Art Association.

March 5 First Thursday Tour Itinerary:
At The Whale & Ale: Barry Anthony & the Whalers - Authentic 5-piece New Orleans Jazz Band headlined by ASCAP awarding winning, #SpongeBob -theme composer Barry Anthony, from 7 to 9.30p.m. No cover charge.
Post-Future: The Art Company, the gallery of Alida Post and John Von Hammersveld is featuring an exhibit and book signing for Robert Landau’s Rock 'N' Roll Billboards of the Sunset Strip. There was a time when you could drive down the Sunset Strip and feast your eyes on carefully coordinated, hand painted, one-of-a-kind billboards created by multiple artists and craftspeople. Once taken down, the temporary displays would have been lost to the collective memory if it weren’t for Robert Landau’s documentation of their existence. Meet and greet/ presentation and book signing by Robert Landau, 5-9PM. For more info click here.
TransVagrant @ Warschaw Gallery: Around Black features works by HK Zamani, whose recent paintings dispense with the all-too-familiar conventions defining current abstraction where too much is almost never enough. Spare, rigorous, often near-defiant, Zamani's works flirt with representation but never accede.
Marylyn and Chuck Klaus Center for the Arts Grand Opening: This month's tour will end with a visit to Marymount California University’s new facility which houses Marymount’s arts and media programs. Festivities planned for the March 5 celebration include the debut of the student gallery and performances by the Marymount Jazz Ensemble.

Parking is free downtown after 6PM and always free at Ports O' Call Village, Berth 77. The LA Waterfront Red Car Trolley will take you to and from the San Pedro Arts District. The trolley runs from 5 to 10PM.
