The Schooner "Lady Ada" history and photog-glass negative question

Hi there all!

San Pedro had and has some very beautiful sailing ships in her history.

Does anyone remember what happened to the beautiful sailing vessel "Lady Ada"? She used to dock in front of the Ports O'Call Village in the 80's with a few other schooners, the "Diosa del Mar" and the "Ranger". I believe it was the Diosa  that wrecked off of Catalina? Anyone remember the story? Eddie Weinberg owned her and I believe the other 2 schooners.

There was a story that went around during those years I worked aboard the Schooner Swift, Buccaneer Queen, Paddlewheel Princess and sternwheeler, Showboat that Eddie wanted to take one of his vessels up the Yangtze River, I believe, hard to remember the details!

I found a bit about the Lady Ada built in 1903, on Google..... http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread.php?103479-rebuilding-lady-a...

Looks like she's being restored in Riverside! http://www.diy-wood-boat.com/lady-ada.html

Here's a great history of the Diosa del Mar., built in 1898.... Diosa del Mar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I happen to have a 5" x 7" glass negative of Lady Ada....for any avid photographers out there...where would you suggest going to have this glass negative made into a print, somewhere that's careful with artifacts and such?

Cheers and thanks,

That's most of what I remember!

The builder, owner, captain of the Buccaneer Queen, see my album, always told us that if we ever ventured aboard Eddie's vessels he'd fire us, so, unfortunately, we on the pirate ship, weren't able to interact with these sailors and the beautiful schooners mentioned. I think he thought they were an unsavory lot, LOL! Kind of ironic, hunh!! LOL! The blog-website links I provided with this story are all that I can offer. I was surprised that the Lady Ada even still existed! I'll see what some of my olde crew members can recall and come up with some more memories and stories!

Cheers,

Betheroo!

Tell us everything your remember about the Eddie Weinberg story - this may be the only place that saves that bit of oral history.
