Event Description

Join the San Pedro Kiwanis Club and San Pedro Convention & Visitors Bureau for breakfast with NASA Astronaut and San Pedro native, Anna L. Fisher, MD.

Dr. Fisher graduated from San Pedro High School and earned her medical degree at UCLA. She was selected as an astronaut candidate in 1978 and was involved in the development of the Space Shuttle program before its first flight. Dr. Fisher was a Mission Specialist on STS-51A in November, 1984, the second flight of the orbiter Discovery.

She also served as Chief of the Space Station Branch during its development and is now a management astronaut in both the Capsule Communicator (CAPCOM) branch, working as a station CAPCOM, and the Exploration Branch, working on display development for the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV), Orion.

$35 to benefit Kiwanis work on behalf of children.
