PressFriends is a Top 5 Regional Finalist in the CLASSY Awards

PressFriends has been named a top 5 regional finalist in the Educational Advancement category of the CLASSY awards, the largest philanthropic awards ceremony in the country.  PressFriends is a local nonprofit group formed by kids for kids, and you can help PressFriends become a national finalist by voting at http://www.stayclassy.org/classy-awards/vote before July 26.

PressFriends (www.pressfriends.org) is an all-volunteer youth organization.  We have over 200 middle and high school mentors from the South Bay.  In San Pedro, we mentor elementary students at 7th Street Elementary, the Boys & Girls Clubs of LA Harbor, and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium.  In addition, we also work with elementary schools in Gardena and Lawndale, and with the Palos Verdes Library District and the County of LA Public Library in Lawndale.

Our motto is "Making Friends While Making Writing Fun!"
