Hit Broadway Musical "Hairspray" is at the Warner Grand July 25th, 26th and 28th!!

It’s time to let your hair down and dance the night away! Hairspray, Broadway’s musical comedy phenomenon that inspired a major motion picture is coming to the jewel of San Pedro, the Warner Grand Theatre!

It’s 1962 Baltimore and big-haired and boisterous teen Tracy Turnblad wins a spot on the local TV dance program, “The Corny Collins Show.” Overnight Tracy is transformed from outsider to irrepressible teen celebrity. But can an unconventional trendsetter win the heart of heartthrob Link Larkin and integrate a television show without denting her ‘do?  Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical piled bouffant high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs.

“Hairspray is all about being who you are and not being afraid to stand up for what’s right, all the while pursuing your dreams,” says director Summer Cacciagioni.  “It’s what we at Encore stand for every day and we’re so proud to be bringing it to the historic Warner Grand.”

Don’t miss such crowd favorites as “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” “Good Morning, Baltimore, “Nicest Kids in Town” and “Without Love.  The production is directed by Summer Dey Cacciagioni with Musical direction by Mike Walker, choreography by Jennifer DiBenedetto, and set design by Marcelo Cacciagioni.

To add to the fun, on Sunday, July 28th the 2:00 pm performance will be a special Sing-along show, with contests for the best 60’s costume, highest hair and more!  So dig out that 60’s swag, start brushing up your dance moves, polish up your hula hoop skills and rat that hair!

Performances are Thursday & Friday, July 25-26th  at 7:30pm and Sunday, July 28th at 2:00pm and 6:30pm at the Warner Grand Theatre, 478 West 6th Street, San Pedro.
