Acts 5:12-16; Rev 1:9-11a 17-19; Jn 20:19-31

If there is any passage that Catholics should put to memory I believe that it should be today’s Gospel, John 20:19-24. John’s Gospel has Jesus giving the sacraments of Holy Orders, Confirmation and Penance on the night of the resurrection. The disciples still do not understand the events that have taken place; they are in the upper room afraid with the doors locked. The gospel says that the doors are locked for fear of the… Continue

Easter Sunday: Solemnity of the Resurrection of The Lord

Acts 10:34a, 37-43; Col 3:1-4; Jn 20:1-9

Last August 5th, we remember the thirty-tree miners who were trapped in the collapsed mine in Chile. At first we believed this to be another tragic mining accident with no hope of survival. Miraculously, after seventeen days a note was retrieved from a probe dug deep in the mine with the words written by one of the trapped

miners in red letters, "All 33 of us… Continue

Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion:  Mt 21:1-11; Is 50:4-7; Phil 2:6-11; Mt 26:14—27:66

Today, Palm Sunday or Passion Sunday we enter into the Holiest Week of our Church Calendar.  We begin Mass today with a short procession to the center of the Church where we read the first Gospel and bless the Palms.  We remember that Jesus entered the City of Jerusalem with great acclaim. “The very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the… Continue

Thanks for thinking Think Prime

Thanks to everyone who thinks Think Prime is their favorite San Pedro restaurant.

While it is a great restaurant, it is not in San Pedro. Like Green Hills Cemetary, Think Prime is in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Honorary Mayor of San Pedro candidate Joe Buscaino talks about fundraising and Dodgers.

I've known Joe Buscaino since we were both children. I remember photographing his childhood home every year for the Daily Breeze at Christmas time because his dad always went above and beyond with the lights and decorations. I remember celebrating with him in the yellow seats at Dodger Stadium during the 1988 World Series when Kirk Gibson hit a home run in the…

April Gray Whales

I saw seven gray whales on Sunday.

It is widely believed that the gray whale migration in our area ends in late March or early April, but the truth is that grays pass by our shores through May and occasionally into June. Most local whale watching ceases after the first week of April because usually the numbers of migrating whales drop off, but also…

New Goodwill Store Under Construction

There is a new Goodwill Store under construction on the top level of The Terraces, along Western Avenue, in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Notices on the door state that there will be job interviews beginning on April 19 and they will be conducted at other outlets.

I don't know when the store will open.

Yes, it's not in "San Pedro" but to many of us older Eastview residents, our hearts remain firmly loving San Pedro.

San Pedro High Flag Football 2023 Shines In Inaugural Year

When a new high school sports program begins, normally it takes time to build a winner from the ground up.For San Pedro High flag football however, they didn't waste time in its inaugural season. Not wanting to settle for just being one of the 54 CIF-Los Angeles City Section schools to take in this brand-new environment, San Pedro immediately looked to hire a man well…See More

The Jewish Community Weaponized Hip Hop Against Black People

Is it not yet painfully obvious that the so-called European Jewish community has profited off of the destruction of African American families all across the world? Are we really going to take the stance that conscious Hip Hop wouldn't have sold records? Whole fan bases have been ousted over the special interests of the Jewish community. Lyor Cohen, a so-called Jewish…See More
