Residents - I know most of you know this, but some of our friends and relatives need to be reminded!  There is a slow return of door to door magazine sales and contractors pitching their "wares".

I just spoke with a neighbor Jo who had lengthy conversations with both. A young girl, (once again saying what they all do, that she lives "up the street")  just sold another neighbor Em, a bogus magazine subscription that "goes to a veteran". By the time the other neighbor Jo tipped her off, the check had already been cashed.

The "contractors" all say they're in your neighborhood this week. This time they even wanted my neighbor Jo to talk to their dispatcher to discuss coming out next week!

ALL OF THIS GIVES THE FAKES THE KNOWLEDGE, or belief, THAT YOU WILL FALL FOR IT! The biggest targets are people like my neighbors who are 65+, retired, and not always aware of the scam trends.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM SOMEONE WALKING DOOR TO DOOR. YOU REALLY SHOULD NOT EVEN SPEAK WITH THEM. THEY ARE CHECKING OUT YOUR HOUSE, YOUR PATTERNS OF WHEN YOU COME & GO, THAT YOU LIVE ALONE, HOW MUCH MONEY YOU MIGHT HAVE.

DON'T BE A STATISTIC!
