Down 10-7 to visiting Rancho Dominguez Prep of Long Beach in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Polar Bears erupted with 11 runs to knock off the Lobos for a wild 18-14 victory to remain unbeaten in the Crosstown League, and extend their impressive winning streak to eight games in succession after starting the season with three straight losses.
Anthony Carson went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and an RBI, Brandon Giordano went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs and Joseph Mancha went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and 3 RBIs for POLA (8-3 overall, 4-0 league), who still had to hold off a four-run surge by Rancho Dominguez Prep (3-4, 2-3) in the seventh inning to seal the win.
The Polar Bears host Animo Venice Charter on Friday in another Crosstown League game.
