Mary Star High boys basketball would roll to a 64-29 victory over visiting Environmental Charter of Lawndale in their 2013-2014 season opener behind senior guard Elijah Davis.
It was a tough first half, with the Stars (1-0) holding a 28-20 halftime lead, and Davis already had 16 points after scoring 12 in the second quarter, but then he took over in the third and finished with a game-high 26 points. Sophomore forward Justin Rodriguez had a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Stars, who outscored Environmental Charter, 23-3 in the third quarter.
