Mary Star High sophomore Lexie Geich is another amazing athlete who's a sensational student, as she gets it done in all facets.
First off, she is a staunch defender for the girls soccer team. Secondly, she swipes any ground ball that comes towards her on the softball diamond while coming through with a clutch hit here and there for the two-time defending Camino Real League champion softball team. Third, she's one charismatic cheerleader who gets things going during football season with her awesome flexibility and perpetual personality.
Geich has been a key contributor for the Stars' softball team this season, currently 9-5 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the Camino Real League heading into Thursday's showdown with an improved Serra High of Gardena team whom Mary Star beat, 4-2 earlier in the year.
Last season, Geich hit an even .200 with three doubles, 8 RBIs and 15 runs scored on 12 hits, also contributing with four stolen bases while starting in the outfield, being converted over to shortstop for this season after losing eight seniors to graduation.
During the soccer season, Geich was mostly the one marking the best scorer on the opposing team, and most dared to get past her... nine times out of ten, they failed.
Finally, Geich is dominating in the classroom with an astonishing 4.5 GPA.
Talk about a shining star.
