There was a Northern elephant seal on Cabrillo Beach on Wednesday. On the inner beach, not far from the fishing pier. It was just laying there in the sun. Every now and then it shifted into a more comfortable position and sometimes it shoveled sand on its back with one of its front flippers.

San Pedro's First Thursday Art Walk on June 2, 2011 featured for the first time popular food trucks that brought with them many food fans to downtown. The Grilled Cheese Truck had the longest line where people waited up to thirty minutes to get their sandwich. The Lobster Truck got the best reviews. Also featured were the Nom Nom Truck and Me So Hungry Truck. Most people said they would love to see the trucks back every First Thursday.

Kuzma Domancich got emotional and simply said "Its beautiful," when the new sign under the scoreboard at Pirate Stadium was unveiled with his brothers name on it. "Sam Domancich Track"
Domancich, who died in January, was instrumental in getting the all weather track financed and added to the new stadium.

There is now a little less of the beached humpback whale on the rocks at White’s Point in San Pedro. The dead animal has been featured in multiple media accounts, but now it is also destined to star in a show on the National Geographic Channel. Or at least put in a cameo appearance. As shark bait.
