At the recent community dinner held by the Occupy San Pedro group a number of people got up to speak. There were two main themes that came out of the speakers. We are fighting for JUSTICE and we are concerned about our community, San Pedro. There were three who stood out in my mind.

Los Angeles City Firefighters put out a fire at a Single family home on 2nd St. and Hanford in San Pedro, Ca. According to Chief Chris Logan, one person and three pets were in the home when the call came in at 9:19pm on Dec. 6, 2011. The fire was extinguished in thirty-four minutes and nobody was injured.

San Pedro has it's own little piece of the Occupy movement, the group Occupy San Pedro. They have already held three demonstrations at local banks. First, Wells Fargo, followed by Bank of America on Pacific Ave. and finally, Chase. There's no doubt that San Pedro residents are being hit hard by the financial crisis. Following the detachement of 600 feet of Paseo Del Mar in San Pedro on Sunday, November 20, City of Los Angeles engineers assessed Monday morning. A geological survey will begin immediately and last six month.
