A Good Jog
Over the years I have found that San Pedro has many places that are very eye catching and pleasing. These are really good places for people to get pumped and do a nice workout. Places like the area between Point Fermin and the White Point Nature Preserve offer so much inspiration for a beginning jogger like myself. It's a good length strip next to the street with a view to the ocean, surrounding trees and grass. This is a good place for a beginner to challenge themselves to make it from one…

Proof that San Pedro once had its own city hall. Buried for 100 years, uncovered during construction
Construction workers found a large granite block with "City Hall 1907" written on it at a North Gaffey residential development. According Anne Hansford of the San Pedro Bay Historical Society, the date is consistent with the original San Pedro City Hall which was built in 1907. Last week Congresswoman Janice Hahn opened her new congressional district office in San Pedro. Several hundred people attended the opening at 140 West 6th Street. Justice For All?
At the recent community dinner held by the Occupy San Pedro group a number of people got up to speak. There were two main themes that came out of the speakers. We are fighting for JUSTICE and we are concerned about our community, San Pedro. There were three who stood out in my mind.
One speaker was Sherry whose home is threatened, she said she usually sits back but is tired of seeing the banks win and knows that SHE has to DO something to help get justice. Her story is…

A new representative for the Los Angeles City Council 15th District will be elected on January 17, 2012. As constituents, we will expect our new Councilperson to be assessable, listen to our concerns, and take action to resolve issues. Most importantly, he’ll need to “hit the ground running”. In my opinion, Joe Buscaino is the best candidate for the job.
Joe Buscaino is committed with his heart and soul and has the vision and focus to work on the important issues facing our district.…
