The Great Social Divide

Facebook seemed like a good idea when it started back in 2004; but I’m not so sure anymore. I can’t imagine that Zukerberg ever dreamed his software application would create such a stir with its lengthy tentacles reaching the world’s corners and consumers far and wide.

Who could…

Lend a #HelpingHand

A Generation Lost

I don't know when we lost America, but we did. Maybe it was the 70's.

Back in the 60's there was still a real zeal and a passionate burning feeling about America by Americans for America.  We were still proud and were willing to stand up against unjust wars and corporate greed.  Many felt so strongly they burned their draft cards and defected to…

Weekend Navigator Class

(LONG BEACH --- Nov. 9) --- The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is set to begin a Weekend Navigator class Dec. 3 in Los Alamitos.

The nine-week course will teach how to plot courses, use latitude and longitude on a chart, take compass bearings, on-chart measuring,…

The Me Generation Meets Facebook

Me, me, me, it's all about me... Facebook - it may be social media, but it is most certainly devoid of any social graces.

What started out in 2004 as an experiment in social networking has by today created 1.2 billion over-sharers in what has now become the age of over-sharing.

Today, at least one out of every fourteen people in the world has a Facebook…
