My Rooney thoughts for November 11, 2014
Today, one hundred years ago, at the exact time of 1100hrs the Great War came to an end. It was thought to be a war that would end all wars. It was a war in which men learned to use machines of destruction, to kill almost a whole generation of young men. It was only thought to be the war that would end all wars. Simply put, it did not.
I think of that war from time to time. I can’t begin to contemplate the ugliness of that war. What…

Whether it be patrolling the middle as a free safety on defense, being used in certain situations as a wide receiver on offense, or looking to create some electricity with a killer return on punts or kickoffs, San Pedro High football has their man in junior WR/DB Antonio 'A.J.' Frazier…

As of Saturday morning,…

It only seemed fitting that Port Of Los Angeles High girls volleyball would have to go through three sets of torture to get their third consecutive Crosstown League championship.
Falling behind in each of the three sets, the…

My Rooney thoughts for October 26, 2014
Well, it’s happened again, here in the Northwest. In Marysville, Washington at a local high school a distraught and misguided young man walked into the school cafeteria with a .40 caliber handgun and killed the girl who had refused his amorous advances. Additionally, he wounded two others students before turning the gun on himself. It’s a tragedy that’s being played out way too often, not only in Washington but all over the…

My Rooney thoughts for October 19, 2014
It never fails! Some weeks ago when the press began reporting the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, our government went to great lengths to assure the American people Ebola won’t reach our shores. WRONG!

So far, not much unnerves the San Pedro High football team.
