San Pedro Needs a Craft Store! (updated 5/16/2012)

I hope someday, someone who wants to start a business in downtown San Pedro, does a craft store. Sure we have Crafted coming soon, but we need a craft store! It doesn't have to be a chain store like JoAnn's or a Michael's. And I know we have (still?) a hobby store, but we gals & the kids want a craft store! We have SO many empty storefronts on 6th street lately, for example.

Or maybe someone at Crafted at the Port of L.A. can set this…

Winners and Losers - America's Class System

The article below is reprinted from June 2008; nearly four years ago. Remember 2008? There was hope and change in the air, we elected
Obama. Has anything changed? You bet it has! When I wrote this in 2008 I too had hope, hope for the have-nots. Unfortunately we've gone backwards since our last election. Will we make the same mistake again?

DWP Upgrading Water Meters

In case you didn't know DWP is upgrading the water meters. I just spoke with a DWP employee out on our street.

They will be switching to a unit that can be read "electronically" or remotely. This will result in greater efficiency. It will only mean a reduction in staff by attrition.

So if you noticed a slight "hesitation" by the water coming out of your pipes, today or recently, it is likely due to this upgrade, as they of course have to turn off your water for just a few…
